Thing a day, day twenty three

I had a doctor’s appointment Tuesday afternoon. This was the first time going to this doctor and wasn’t sure how long he makes patients wait. Instead of bringing a book or magazine, I decided to bring my crochet. After filling out paperwork and the usual new patient stuff, I only had time to make 1 of these hearts (they are going to be earrings) before being called in! I have another doctor’s appointment on Thursday so hopefully I can finish the earrings there (although there is a big snowstorm coming!)

Thing a day, day fourteen

TAD 14, Red Velvet Heart Whoopie Pies!

When I saw this in my google reader, I was very inspired to bake them. Mine don’t look nearly as vibrant as hers (I didn’t use as much food coloring) nor do they have as much filling (I find most fillings/frostings a bit too sweet. A little does a lot for me!) And of course my heart shapes are all wacky! I don’t have a pastry bag so I just used a ziploc bag. I found it easier just to take a piece and shape them into hearts since it was pretty pliable.

The Heart of Photography

On this Valentine's day I set myself a task, try and find 'hearts' in the garden to photograph. Only found three, I thought I would find more.

TAD - Day 14: copper and sodalite earrings. And a Valentine's Day card.

Yesterday and Friday I failed to make anything. To make up for it, I've made two Things already today! They are another pair of copper and sodalite earrings and, because I'm just that good at pre-planning and things, a Valentine's Day card for my poor, long-suffering boyfriend. He liked it, I think, so my total lack of both organisational and artistic ability doesn't seem to be an issue... ;-)

Thing a day, day eight

Day 8 of Thing a day and still at it! Woohoo! I hope I can keep this up.

Today's TAD is a heart felt brooch :-) in preparation for lovey dovey day next week. I made it as an extra for the Ugly Doll swap that I mailed out today. I hope my partner likes it.

Thing-a-day, day one

<p>I just came back from <a title="Etsy Labs" href="http://www.etsy.com/storque/events/come-craft-with-rachel-johnson-of-swap-bot..." target="_blank">Etsy labs</a> where the craft of the day was making matchboxes with a Valentine's day theme, hosted by the ever talented Rachel Johnson of <a title="Swap-bot rules!" href="http://www.swap-bot.com/" target="_blank">swap-bot</a>. It was super fun! I've only made a matchbox once in my life and now I can say I made three!</p>
