"Another kiss and she was gone;
Like post l stood in the moan's stream!
O beautiful beyond a dream,
O small blue flower all my own!
...
Alas our love that grew so fair
Has flown and faded from that hour,
O my blue flower, my blue flower!
The world is sorrow everywhere."
(Mihai Eminescu - "Blue Flower", translated by Corneliu M. Popescu)
"Pluck this little flower and take it, delay not! I fear lest it
droop and drop into the dust. I may not find a place in thy garland, but honour it with a touch of
pain from thy hand and pluck it. I fear lest the day end before I am
aware, and the time of offering go by. Though its colour be not deep and its smell be faint, use this flower
in thy service and pluck it while there is time."
(Rabindranath Tagore)
"Nobody knows this little Rose --
It might a pilgrim be
Did I not take it from the ways
And lift it up to thee.
Only a Bee will miss it --
Only a Butterfly,
Hastening from far journey --
On its breast to lie --
Only a Bird will wonder --
Only a Breeze will sigh --
Ah Little Rose -- how easy
For such as thee to die! "
(E. Dickinson)
I proudly announce you that today I became Godmother for this wonderful boy.
Of course, this is much more than a "thing-a-day", it's a forever commitment!
One of my sisters-in-law helped me to make 60 Orthodox Baptismal crosses (Christening crosses).
My theme this week has been flowers, I think I'm looking forward to spring, wishing away these cold winter days. These flowers, made from organza, are so easy to make, there is a tutorial is on my website http://pompomemporium.com
This week I have had a floral theme to my TAD, a kind of salute to Valentine's day/Spring Today I made a flower from organza, experimenting with different layers of colour and beads. Also working on a tutorial, for the flower, to post on http://wwpompomemporium at a later date
Hi! This is Day 5’s “TAD”: a nice 2 in 1 necklace/bracelet with
cultured freshwater pearls, small glass beads & silver plated beads, and turquoise organza ribbon.
Enjoy it!
I hope you'll enjoy "Today's photo" too!
