Day 28 - fickle

The longer you’re away

the more hopeless I feel.

It’s just a few weeks but

the distance becomes real.

And I can’t say it’s bad

yet when I see your face

I start to dream again

and you’re impossible to replace.

But when the dream turns into a nightmare

it becomes natural to imagine

me just inviting you to my wedding –

it could actually happen.

And I could be happy

I really believe.

And you could be happy

I pray God, please?

It's been good this month. Challenging, didn't always like what I came up with, but I got some really good things out of it.  See you next year!

Day 27 - Weather Report

Overnight we had some
light showers but no freezing
this morning. Waking up to
partly-cloudy skies, slight
chance of rain, but
these clouds will be
breaking up in a few hours
we predict. Tonight looks
clear but we're expecting some
strong winds.

As for the rest of the week,
with all of the fronts coming
in all directions, it's going to be
pretty unpredictable.

Day 25 - high school visit

familiar places
stranger faces
chattering yelling
laughing smacking
memories surface
widening distance
who I was
who I am
same friend
same travels
old foundations
new beginnings

Day 24 - tug-of-war

My heart
                  My future
My life
                  is a big game of
tug-of war
         in all directions
                  in all directions
in all directions
        in all directions
but I'm cheering for everyone
                            everyone
                            everyone
and I'm very,
                  very,
interested to see who
          wins.

Day 23 - the music

the pulse, ever-present sound physical or mental
the power, means of communication change charisma compulsion
the driving force, challenging me deeper better harder
the narration, when i didn't have the words/noise
the unhateable, to despise is strangely inhuman
the universal height of creativity, every culture every people
the praise, first mentioned vehicle of worshiping our creator
the love, felt for it expressed by it saturated in it impossible without it

the music.

Day 22 - spring, please?

I want to run in the green,
green grass and lay in the bright,
bright beams and swim in the warm,
warm waves and be anywhere,
anywhere away from this winter.

I'm so, so sick of this season.
I'm so, so set for spring.

Day 19 - Clouds and Darkness

O Lord,
on the mountain You were
surrounded by clouds and smoke
and I was afraid of Your presence.

O Lord,
the words You speak are
still confusing and mysterious
and I am sometimes in the dark.

O Lord,
here I am crying out to You
through the darkness and the cold
believing that You are light.

O Lord God,
would You make Your face shine
on mine, reflecting Your radiance,
proclaiming Your mysteries in this world?

Day 18 - underwater

basking in the sunlight of contentment
suddenly,
unexpectedly,
deep beneath the waves of insecurity
a dull glimmer of sunlight dancing far above
gradually,
laboriously,
resurfacing.

"seek peace and pursue it"

Day 17 - déjame

no quiero hablar
no quiero explicar
no quiero pensar
no quiero platicar
no quiero soñar
no quiero recordar...
déjame, porfas,
déjame en paz.

translation:
i don't want to talk
i don't want to explain
i don't want to think
i don't want to chat
i don't want to dream
i don't want to remember...
leave me, please,
leave me alone.
