Summer Thing A Day 2010

In a few days August will be here. Maybe this is the time to take vacation before the kids go back to school and summer Fridays at the office wind down. Hopefully, the month will bring cooler temperatures in New York City. Even if the weather Gods disagree, August is the time for Summer Thing A Day (STAD). Like Thing A Day, held annually during the month of February, the goal is to actively create something on a daily basis. Click here to see projects from STAD 2009. If you've participated in TAD or feeling inspired join me for Summer Thing A Day 2010. Make sure to stop by the blog daily to see the project of the day.

Thing A Day 2010- Compilation

Tad_summary_2010

At the outset of February, a goal was to create a body of work during Thing A Day. Drawing on inspiration from my own photographs, I accomplished that goal by creating something everyday. Here is a compilation of most of my designs. This was my second year participating. I'll be back again in August for Summer thing A day .

In the meantime, you can keep up with RBS online.

Thing A Day 2010-Day 28: Bremen Berries

Wow. it's the last day of Thing A Day 2010. Today's inspiration comes from dessert I had during a lunch in Bremen; it was divine panacotta topped with seasonsl fruit, including berries.

Thing A Day 2010-Day 27: Dandelions for Brugges

While in Brugges, I attempted to ride a bike to the beach. It took two attempts over two days. On day one,  I rode to another country, the Netherlands, by accident. The following day, I was determined to find the beach. When I finally did, dandelions greeted me before descending to the shore.

Thing A Day 2010-Day 24: Cologne Flowers

Today I was thoroughly distracted while working on my thing a day. Blame it on the women's bobsled. However, I did manage to work on something based on a photo of flowers from a side walk garden outside of Cologne.

Thing A Day 2010- Day 23: Have a seat

These chairs were on a side street in Brussels. While they are the focus of today's design, pre existing patterns are incorporated into the background.

Thing A Day 2010- Day 21: Whales Teeth

It's back to the computer today. And for today's inspiration, I went back through my photos from the East Frisian island of Borkum. Walking through the town, I came upon this fence made from whales teeth. It's the fence that was used to create a striped pattern for today's design.
