TAD Day 24 – Deerstuff’s Coloured Dreams: “The Blue Danube” (Teardrop Chandelier Earrings with Blue Lace Agate & Crystals)
Don't be such a SQUARE...okay so they're cubes, but it is square wire.
This square wire looks so cool...in theory, but is rather difficult to work with as far as repeating a look is concerned.
Instead of twisting, I just bent. Next thing to learn: silver soldering. It's been on my list for eons.

I call knee surgery for non-TAD posts the past few days and am posting 2 pair of earrings today to celebrate ability to sit for more than 15 minutes with knee un-elevated at my jewelry workshop (and to catch up). Can you tell I was into these green drops today?
The above shot is to show the hammering on the wire since it's not really visable in the first shot.

In a hurry today so just went with sparkly. I love sparklies. Anyone else have Secret of Nimh flashbacks when you see that word?

I feel like I need summer! Right here, right now!
Two good reasons for feeling like this are:
1. Chris Rea and his “Looking for the summer”...
(…this is what I’m listening now, again and again, and again...
)
…“And still I stand this very day
With a burning wish to fly away
I'm still looking
Looking for the summer”…
plus +++ >>> 2. The weather outside
“Bucuresti, Sambata, 6 Feb” (Sat, Feb.6, Bucharest)
Max: : -1° C
Real. : -8° C
Min. : -3° C
Real. : -11° C
………………………………………………………………………………………
The result : It seems that, unfortunately, the only thing I can do at this point
is to dream about it!
In fact, I could say that making these “summer themed” earrings
for “TAD – Day 6” really helped!
I have no doubt! And this is the best part!
Okay. These TOTALLY took me waaaaaay longer than the time limit, but for some reason I kept wanting to do hearts for Lisa. I started with the awesome Swarovski crystal drops and kept working and reworking wire designs that kept turning into hearts. As a result, the second earring (usually the harder of the pair to do because of the whole trying to replicate thing) was the easier one of the two. Go figure! One looks longer than the other, but that's actually due to the fixture I hooked the earrings on being not completely parallel to the ground.

My first TAD!
My goal for TAD this year is to use materials I already own. I tend to hoard / collect craft supplies. So hopefully over the 28 days of February I will use up some of my stash.
For this piece I used a beautiful piece of agate geode that I've had for a couple years. I paired this with various beads: quartz, black pearl, opal, Swarovski crystal and a few glass seed beads.
