For today's "thing" I bring you this picture I took. I cut out all the little hearts just for you. Happy Valentine's Day!

valentine's joseph
It was a challenge but I finished the Valentine's birds for my niece and nephew. I sewed Raffy's bird until the wee hours last night but had to start again from scratch this morning. It tore when I turned it right-side in for stuffing and finishing. I went to bed hoping it would be OK but when I looked at it again with fresher eyes this morning it clearly wasn't. Luckily, I made a zillion iron-on's of both birds yesterday trying to get them right so I had one of the sides I needed all ready to go. I re-printed the other side, ironed it onto another piece of fabric, and pinned, trimmed, sewed, stuffed and finished a new blue bird to go with the pink one I made for Ella yesterday. Then I wrapped and boxed them and trotted them up to the post office. Bon voyage, little birds!

Well, I’ve been “busy like a bee” all day, but as I’m trying not to become too stressed, I found time (among other things) to paint (with acrylics and permanent markers) some paper hearts I made a few days ago for Valentine’s Day and to make an easy chocker style necklace (on memory wire) featuring crocheted pansies.
Enjoy them!
I bought some ribbon before Christmas, from the local market, wired edged ombre ribbon. Because the colours are graduated I thought they would make interesting flowers. The wired edge allowed me to shape and form the ribbon, to give the appearance of petals. I think these roses have lots of possibilities, they could be used to decorate a hat, hair band, corsage, an evening bag and lots more
I have put a tutorial, for making the roses on http://pompomemporium.com
