TAD Day 21 - Opalite and crystal cubes with square sterling silver wire earrings by smac

Don't be such a SQUARE...okay so they're cubes, but it is square wire.
This square wire looks so cool...in theory, but is rather difficult to work with as far as repeating a look is concerned.
Instead of twisting, I just bent. Next thing to learn: silver soldering. It's been on my list for eons.

TAD - Day 16 Sterling Silver wire with Swarovski Crystal drops and Crystal Rondelles by smac

I call knee surgery for non-TAD posts the past few days and am posting 2 pair of earrings today to celebrate ability to sit for more than 15 minutes with knee un-elevated at my jewelry workshop (and to catch up). Can you tell I was into these green drops today?

The above shot is to show the hammering on the wire since it's not really visable in the first shot.

TAD - Day 11: Two pairs of earrings

Edit: Including the photos helps...

The first one didn't work well - the stones were different sizes and I didn't notice. So I made another pair I like better. You get to see both, since they were both today's Thing at one point...

Thing 11 A is a pair of larvikite stones which didn't photograph particularly well, wrapped in silver plated wire.

Thing 11 B is a pair of spiral wire-wrapped earrings using silver plated wire.

Thing-A-Day Day 8 Swarovski Crystal Drops and Starlight Silver Square earrings by smac

In a hurry today so just went with sparkly.  I love sparklies.  Anyone else have Secret of Nimh flashbacks when you see that word?

TAD - Day 7: silver and pewter earrings

Todays Thing is the below pair of earrings. They use silver plated wire, surgical steel ear wires and pewter discs. They complement a necklace I'm slowly making using the same discs - I'll show pics when done (if it ever gets done!).

There's also a better picture of the bracelet from yesterday.

TAD - Day 6: A copper wire-wrapped bracelet

(For some reason, I can't send email. Hopefully this will fix itself soon.)

If you're paying attention, you may notice there was no day 5 Thing. This is true - I was in the UK having my teeth fixed, and wasn't able to make a Thing yesterday. Today, then, I've made two Things, some photos (collectively, one Thing, for today. Don't expect consistency around this - other days one photo may well be one Thing...), and a bracelet.

The bracelet is copper and random beads - I bought a large bag of random beads, and they don't have names. Some of them look like jaspers, the yellow ones could be anything. They look quite good, though, I think, even if they don't match! (Excuse the rubbish picture - it's dark here now.)

Copper and random beads bracelet

The photos were from my balcony when we were having breakfast this morning. A couple of random photos of buoys and boats, because I like them, and some rowers. There were lots of rowers out today - rather them than me, it looks tiring!

Thing-A-Day Day 5 Swarovski Crystal Drop Earrings with Sterling Silver Wire and Adventurine for Lisa by smac

Okay. These TOTALLY took me waaaaaay longer than the time limit, but for some reason I kept wanting to do hearts for Lisa. I started with the awesome Swarovski crystal drops and kept working and reworking wire designs that kept turning into hearts. As a result, the second earring (usually the harder of the pair to do because of the whole trying to replicate thing) was the easier one of the two. Go figure! One looks longer than the other, but that's actually due to the fixture I hooked the earrings on being not completely parallel to the ground.

Ice queen or Snow queen

Do you remember the story? If not you can find it here:http://www.online-literature.com/hans_christian_andersen/972/

It is one of the atypical stories all together. I remember imagining the queen in all her glory so light blue and cold. With all the snow around me these days, it was impossible not to remember,  so i did the necklace: all light blue and cold and elegant :)

TAD - Day 2: A circus bracelet

(Apologies if this double-posts...)

This is one in a series of bracelets I make - so you will likely see others, particularly over the next few days, since they're quick and easy to make. Antibiotics are, though, making a difference already, so hopefully the Evil Illness will be gone soon!

Blue and green glass beads are wrapped in silver-plated wire and the bracelet is finished with a handmade toggle clasp in the same wire. (Tutorial for the clasp can be found at http://popnicute.etsy.com, if you're interested; that's where I got it from, anyway!)
